Voting on our first “Vote for Our Next Import” round closed on Sunday, Oct 4. Four vehicles were on the ballot, and the results were:

  • 1998 Nissan Homy Coach (10-seat 4WD diesel wagon): 4 votes (40%) – winner
  • 1987 Toyota Hilux Surf SSR-E Turbo: 4 votes (40%)
  • 1996 Mitsubishi Bravo (4WD kei van): 1 vote (10%)
  • 1999 Nissan Vanette Truck (4WD): 1 vote (10%)

The Homy Coach and Hilux Surf tied on votes. As the rules on the voting page say, ties are broken by “would seriously buy” votes first, and the Homy Coach came out ahead. Thank you to everyone who voted.

We’re buying two

Two customers have already asked us to bring in a Homy Coach for them, so we’re purchasing two separate units from our Japan sources. Here’s a look at each, and just how much van this is.

Homy Coach #1

Homy Coach 1: full side profile showing the long body and roof rack
Long, 4WD, and room to spare.
Homy Coach 1: open rear looking through the long cargo floor
Open the back and you can see the whole cargo floor.

Homy Coach #2

Homy Coach 2: high-roof rear three-quarter beside another van
High roof, parked next to another full-size van.
Homy Coach 2: rows of seats stacked down the long cabin
Row after row of seating.
